12 Year-Old Dies in Hit & Run Crash, Suspect at Large

Local authorities are actively looking for the driver of a vehicle they said fled the scene after hitting a 12 year-old Northern Tier girl on her bicycle. Pennsylvania State Police in Mansfield confirmed to 18 NEWS early Wednesday morning that the young girl has since died.

The crash happened just after 7:00 pm Tuesday night along State Route 287 in Morris Township, Tioga County.  The vehicle was white in color and described as a hatchback style, according to State Police.  It has front end damage and is missing the passenger side view mirror. The vehicle is possibly a Chevrolet Traverse and was last seen traveling south on State Route 287 and possibly turned onto Rattler Road.
