Massachusetts man charged with endangering the welfare of a child in Steuben County

A Massachusetts man has been charged in Steuben County for driving under the influence with a child under the age of four in the front seat of the vehicle.

Ian Kennedy, 28, was pulled over on I-86 in Erwin and was found to be intoxicated. Deputies allege that Kennedy possessed both marijuana and a controlled substance and that a child under the age of four was in the front seat unproperly restrained.

Kennedy was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle While Impaired by Drugs in the First Degree, a class E Felony, Aggravated Driving While Impaired by Drugs, a Class E Felony, Front Passenger under the age of four, seating violation, Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Misdemeanor.

Kennedy was arraigned in the Steuben County Centralized Arraignment Court and released to appear in Erwin Town Court at a later date.
