ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) – For students from elementary to high school, the September 11th terrorist attack isn’t a memory, It’s history.

A new HBO documentary that debuts on the 18th anniversary treats it that way.

The film: “What Happened on September 11” by filmmaker Amy Schatz.
She made the film after a third grade girl told her about a playdate where she and a friend googled “September 11 attacks.”

Schatz says she felt a responsibility to try to fill that void and try to give kids something that isn’t horrifying and kind of fills in the gap.

Neighbors coming out Tuesday evening as the Southport town board talked about issues facing the town.

One of the big topics discussed was how to handle street winter parking.

The current ordinance states no parking allowed on the street or you will be ticketed.

A counter ordinance was brought up going to odd – even parking. however no decision was made Tuesday night.
The topic will be resurfaced at the next town meeting in October.

People living in the town of Hector have more reasons to feel secure now as the Mecklenberg fire company is building a new station.

The fire company saying in a Facebook post they have outgrown their current fire station after adding necessary lifesaving tools.
