Local News

ELMIRA N.Y. (WETM)- Rodney Hood, President of Bradford Fire was live in studio today to talk about the upcoming Polish Festival going on Sunday, September 1st.

The Bradford fire department is teaming up with Savona fire to make the Polish Festival possible.

Hood says, his team has been busy making 2,300 pierogies as well as halupki, fried cabbage, and even some fun family games for the kids like a dunking tank. There will also be a Polka band performing live and Hood says he hopes for a good turnout because that will determine if this will become an annual event.

The money raised from the Festival will go towards equipment needed for the fire departments and Hood says they’re trying to find new and fun ways to fundraise.
