CORNING, N.Y. (WETM) – The Corning Hawks girls soccer team picked up their second win of the season on Thursday.
The Hawks defeated Horseheads 2-0 at Corning Memorial Stadium. Ashlee Volpe scored a goal less than nine minutes into the game to give Corning a 1-0 lead. Corning led 1-0 at halftime. Volpe scored her second goal of the game in the second half on a direct kick to put the Hawks in front 2-0.
Corning (2-0-1) hosts Maine-Endwell on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. Horseheads (1-2) is on the road against Hornell on Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
