The 37th annual Wineglass marathon took place Sunday, September 30th. The race was 26.2 miles long, beginning in Bath and ending on Market Street in Corning. The marathon drew close to 3,000 runners this year.
What is unique about the course is that it is a fast, flat, and scenic point-to-point course through the southern Finger Lakes. It is also a Boston Marathon qualifier race.
Coming in first place for men was Trevor VanAckeren. For women, it was Brianna Deming. Both runners beat their own personal best records.
All finishers received a hand-crafted glass medal, continuing a long tradition of unique and collectible Wineglass medals.
