Trolley into Mark Twain Country tours begin today

The annual Trolley into Mark Twain Country tours begin for the 2019 summer season.

The tours depart every hour from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesdays through Saturdays, until August 31.

The ride includes a 60-minute narrated tour of Elmira and its rich history, including the Mark Twain Study, where the author wrote his most famous books; the Civil War Prison Camp site; the Arnot Art Museum, and many more historic locations.

Reservations are not required, but are preferred to guarantee a spot.  Tickets can be purchased at the Chemung Valley History Museum information desk. Adults are $8, students ages 5-18 are $4, and children 4 and younger are free.

For an additional $2, riders may also tour the Chemung Valley History Museum. For more information about the trolley, click here, or call the Chamber at (607) 734-5137.
