Alstom, located in the heart of Hornell, is transforming the future of transportation not only in New York, but in other cities across the country.
The Alstom site in Hornell is one of 15 throughout the country responsible for manufacturing one-fourth of all metro cars in the United States. One of their projects is to revitalize old train cars and turn them into state of the art pieces of machinery.
The 160-year-old company employs 750 people, handles several multi-billion dollar contracts, and has a vision for the future.
Trains being manufactured in Hornell will soon replace the Amtrack Acela trains that have served the northeast corridor for decades.
