Arctic League surpasses campaign goal for 16th consecutive year

News

The Arctic League closed its “Big Book” on Wednesday, Dec. 20, marking the end of its fundraising campaign for the 2018 Christmas season.

The organization was able to surpass its original goal of $120,000, raising over $130,000 to go towards the purchase of gifts for less fortunate children in Chemung County.

2018 marks the 16th consecutive year the Arctic League has been able to either reach or surpass its goal ahead of Christmas Day.

Now, the organization is encouraging people to continue the spirit of giving, by donating to other charities.

“We encourage people now to make donations to the other Christmas charities that are out there, that may not have reached their goal,” Arctic League President Marie VonNeida said.  “We hope that you’ll all come back and donate again next year but we are in very good shape now, and we appreciate everything the community has done for us.”

Volunteers are still needed to help deliver gifts on Christmas morning.

Any additional donations received will go toward the 2019 Christmas campaign. Donations can be mailed to the following address:
