An Elmira man is facing multiple charges after he tried to break into a home on East Second Street in Corning, according to Corning City Police.
Police got a call around 10 p.m. Wednesday concerning a man trying to break into a home. When they got to the scene, police said they found 39-year-old Tyrand Scott in a highly agitated state. Police said Scott has an order of protection against him and was not allowed at the home.
Scott has been charged with, criminal mischief, criminal contempt, and burglary.
He was sent to the Steuben County Jail and is set to appear in Corning City Court at a later time.
Police said no one was injured.
