The Avoca family who lost everything in a fire is now speaking out.
“Thank you for everybody who went out and asking for us because our pride held us back. It’s very hard especially this time of year to ask for help from any body, but the outpouring is greatly appreciated,.Thank you all very much from the bottom of our hearts,” Erickalynn Johnson said.
After a fire that destroyed one Avoca family’s home, the community is coming together to lend a helping hand.
“We’re trying to do a benefit for them which we can do in January. We’re trying to find a home for them, they’re staying in a hotel room. I’m trying to help these five children get some clothes on their back and some toys that they lost,” said Stephanie Hillman of Stephanie’s Restaurant.
Because the family lost so much, plenty of items are needed.
There is a GoFundMe page that has been started to cover expenses for household items that were lost.
If you would like to help, donations are being collected at Stephanie’s Restaurant in Bath.
