Bath Vol. Fire Department holds clothing drive

News

The Bath Volunteer Fire Department is holding a clothing drive and it has one request.

The drive is a joint effort between the department and Bath Electric, Gas & Water Systems with both parties strictly asking for new clothes only.

Coats, hats, scarves, gloves, mittens and warm socks are being accepted as well.

When the drive is over, the items will be given to Catholic Charities and the nonprofit will then distribute it specifically to Bath residents who they know are in need.

It’s a way for the groups to give back.

“We have a strong care for people in our community and the community has supported the fire department dramatically,” Public Information Officer John Conrad said. “They’ve come to all of our raffles and our breakfasts and we like to help the community as much as they’ve helped us.”

Items can be dropped off until December 8 at the following locations:

Bath Vol. Fire Department
50 E Morris Street
Bath, NY 4810

Bath Electric, Gas, & Water Systems
7 South Avenue
Bath, New York 14810
