Bath woman arrested for DWI, endangering minors

A Steuben County woman was arrested during a welfare check on two minors in the Village of Bath on June 8.

Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard tells 18 News that that Crystal L. Wellman, 38, allegedly operated a motor vehicle in an impaired condition due to illegal drug use.

Wellman was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated: with a child age 15 or younger inside the vehicle (also known as Leandra’s Law), a Class E Felony, Operating a Motor Vehicle Impaired by Drugs, first offense, a Class U Misdemeanor, and two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class A Misdemeanor.

Wellman was released on traffic summons and an appearance ticket to appear in Bath Town Court at a later date.
