Beaver Dams man charged after shoving officer, tampering with evidence

A Chemung County Grand Jury has indicted a Beaver Falls man for a December incident where he was pulled over and attempted to run from a police officer.

James Mayo Jr. was pulled over on Dec. 30, 2018, in the Town of Catlin and allegedly shoved the officer while attempting to flee on foot. Mayo allegedly tossed methamphetamine into a grassy area during the pursuit before being taken into custody. 

Mayo has been charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, driving while ability impaired by drugs, and tampering with physical evidence.
