Benefit set for young local woman with autoimmune disease

News

A benefit is set to take place later this month for a Spencer-Van Etten graduate who needs a much-needed transplant.

Friends of 25-year-old Krislyn Manwaring said she is battling scleroderma, an autoimmune disease that causes all of your soft tissue to harden. Manwaring, who is now on oxygen, is in need of a stem-cell transplant, that her insurance won’t pay for.

A benefit for Manwaring is taking place next Saturday, February 23, at JD’s Tavern located at 223 Fairview Road in Erin. Organizers said there will be music, food, silent auction, 50/50 raffle among other things. It’s $5 for admission. There will also be a chicken dinner for $10.

For those who are unable to make the benefit, a GoFundMe page has been set up for Manwaring’s medical costs – Click HERE to learn more.
