Body found in Waverly (UPDATE)


UPDATE: August 11, 2018: 

Waverly Police have identified the deceased victim, found near a railroad track as 56-year-old Robert Edward Lunn of Waverly.

Lunn’s body was found on Wednesday morning under the route-220 overpass.

Waverly police are still investigation his death.


The Waverly Police Department was called out this morning to the area of the Rt. 220 overpass on I-86.

When arriving the officers discovered the body of a 56 year old man.  

The police do not suspect foul play.  The cause of death is under investigation.

The Waverly Police NY Department  is currently investigating a death of a adult male subject found underneath

Route 220 overpass bridge of the RR Tracks near Broad Street, Waverly, NY.

The date and time of the initial report to police was  9:39 AM  on 8/8/2018.   

Initial investigation finds no foul play involved.  

The male was ID as a 56 year old local person.

The name of the deceased will be released  pending further identification.   

Waverly Police are being assisted by the Tioga County NY Coroner Office in this investigation
