TOWANDA, Pa. The Bradford County commissioners held a ground breaking ceremony for a new public safety center in North Towanda.
The state of the art location will provide support for citizens and first responders through resource and incident response coordination, emergency communications and training. This will aid to build, sustain and improve the capability to better respond to hazards.
“There is absolutely nothing more important that we can do as a state and a county as our municipality’s as they join in than to be there for the safety of our citizens,” said State Representative Tina Pickett. “This is going to be a state of the art facility. It’s going to be able to respond exactly when needed, very precisely,” added Pickett.
Pickett said this is a huge boost to the local community. it’s rewarding in the long run. With a good location and easy access, the facility will bring dollars back to rural areas.
