Broome County receives $2 million to combat opioid crisis

Brome County will be receiving additional funding to help fight the opioid crisis.

The National Institute on Drug Addiction, or NIDA, is allocating $86 million in funding to Columbia University and 3 other research sites that will contribute to a multi-year study on Opioid Use Disorder.

Broome County will be receiving $2 million over the next 4 years to implement a collaborative, evidence-based Opioid Use Disorder treatment model.

Columbia University will be working in 15 pre-selected New York Counties that have been heavily affected by the opioid crisis.
