A Canisteo man was arrested after allegedly breaking into a home and stealing alcohol from a fridge.

John D. Kinne, 25, was arrested on April 16 and charged with Burglary in the 2nd Degree (a class “C” violent felony) with additional charges pending.

New York State Police allege Kinne used force to break into a neighbor’s home in the village of Canisteo and steal alcoholic beverages from his refrigerator.

The homeowner, who was asleep in the residence at the time of the break-in, discovered the crime after the suspect fled, and called 911.

Troopers located Kinne a short distance away and took him into custody without incident.

Kinne was transported to the Steuben County Jail for his initial appearance in the Centralized Arraignment Part, which remanded him without bail.
