Tiffany Bloss, and Mary Mosteller of CareFirst stopped by 18 News Today to discuss the upcoming Ready, Set, Glow 5k run.
CareFirst is a non profit organization that provides complete hospice, palliative care, and grief support services to residents of Chemung, Schuyler and Steuben counties.
For the last 3 years, they have hosted a 5k run to raise money for local hospice care and grieving families in Chemung, Schuyler and Steuben counties. The race takes place at night, allowing the “glow” theme to come into play. Attendees are encouraged to show up in bright or neon colors so that when the sun goes down, they light up the night.
This year’s event is being held at Wisner park on Saturday, July 20 at 9:30 p.m. The event is in partnership with the Elmira Street Painting Festival, and all are welcome to participate. There will be plenty of activities, raffles, and glow in the dark merchandise for all to enjoy.
The $30 registration includes entry to Ready Set Glow 5K and a Post-Party wristband a T-Shirt, a Glow Swag Bag and much more. Registration is open from now until the day of the race.
