The Centers for Disease Control is reminding people to avoid eating raw cookie dough, cake mix, and bread dough this holiday season.

The CDC says uncooked flour can contain E.coli, which is killed when the grain is cooked.

Additionally, raw eggs could contain salmonella, which, according to the Mayo Clinic, could lead to nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, diarrhea, fever, chills, headache, and blood in the stool.

The CDC suggests using these best practices when handling raw dough and eggs, such as following packaging instructions, washing your hands, cooking at the proper temperature, and not eating raw products.
