The Chemung County Chamber of Commerce held its annual awards breakfast Tuesday morning at the Elmira Country Club.
The event gives the local business community the opportunity to celebrate accomplishments from throughout the past year.
This year’s award recipients include representatives from Excellus Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Van Etten School District, GST BOCES, Birdland Brewing Company, and Capabilities, Inc.
Judith McIntosh of Mengel, Metzger, Barr & Co., LLP received the top honor of the ATHENA Leadership Award.
It’s an exciting time actually, there’s a lot of good goals that I think we have as a community and as a chamber in the coming year,” Chemung County Chamber of Commerce President Kamala Keeley said. “There are a lot of exciting things happening with the downtown revitalization initiative and the airport renovations. It’s just a good time to be in Chemung County and in the Southern Tier. We have a lot of attention on us and a lot of focus and I think there are exciting things in our future.”
The Athena Award, given to an individual who actively assists women in realizing their full leadership potential, is sponsored in part by WETM-TV.
