Pistol permit holders in Chemung and Bradford Counties may soon be able to apply for permits in each other’s counties.
The agreement between the two counties would accept and process non-resident pistol permit applications in either county.
Chemung County residents who meet the required criteria would be able to apply for a Commonwealth of Pennsylvania pistol permit at the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office and Bradford County residents will be able to do the same at the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office.
The details of how the program will operate will be released at a press conference with Bradford County Sheriff Clinton C.J. Walters and Chemung County Sheriff Christopher Moss.
The press conference is Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Bradford County Courthouse.
