(WETM -TV) – Today the Chemung County Fair opened for it’s 177th edition.

Today is veterans and seniors day. In addition to the free entertainment at today’s fair the 4-H organization put on several events. The fair was a regular barnyard with animals like cows, turkeys, ducks and bunnies all taking temporary spots throughout the grounds. we caught up with the 4-h bunny judge, she tells us why she loves doing fairs like this one.

“It’s a lot of fun I really like to do the county fairs because the kids are so great,” said Judge Jodi Hartman. “I also judge open shows where it’s mostly adults, of course that’s fine too. my real passion is working with the kids that’s why i do so many fairs.”

She enjoys the kids enjoyment and willingness to learn about animals. The fair ends August 4. For more information check out our website mytwintiers.com.
