A 22-year-old inmate at the Chemung County Jail has been charged after injuring a correctional officer.
The Chemung County Sheriff’s Office reports that Brandon Allwood created a disturbance at the jail and had to be restrained. While being restrained Allwood resisted officers and caused injury to a Corrections Officer.
Allwood was charged in March with unlawful fleeing in the 3rd degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th Degree, along with various reckless driving charges.
Allwood, a resident of Southport, was arraigned in the City of Elmira Court where he was remanded to the Chemung County Jail without bail.
