Collins denied request to review certain materials in insider trading case

NEW YORK, N.Y. (WIVB)–U.S. Congressman Chris Collins has been denied a request to review certain materials in his insider trading case.

Collins says the materials would show investigators violated a constitutional provision that restricts official inquiries into legislative matters.

Judge Vernon Broderick ruled the searches didn’t involve official accounts or congressional offices.

Collins will be in a Manhattan court tomorrow for a status conference.
