The democratic candidate for congress in the 23rd district, John Plumb, makes his way through the Southern Tier getting his message out to stimulate the rural economy.
Plumb said the infrastructure is not up to par and that hurts our ability to complete economically. Roads, bridges, and better internet coverage can all be improved, but what Plumb said we have to be pushing harder on is renewable energy.
“We’ve got the land we’ve got the sun, and we’ve got the wind and we’ve got the work force so we need to be selling clean technology which is literally the wave of these next 50 years,” Plumb said.
Plumb said as of right now the rural areas are getting left behind because a lot of the economic investment goes towards the cities. Plumb said if he is elected into congress, he will champion the Southern Tier as the area that needs to be paid attention.
