A Cortland senior home worker was arrested last week for allegedly stealing a Walden Place resident’s credit card to buy items at multiple stores.
The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office charged 22-year-old Michael Pittman with three counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and three counts of second-degree identity theft, both felonies.
The Sheriff’s Office began investigating when the victim’s family members reached out to law enforcement.
Investigators found Pittman at his home on Thursday and took him into custody.
Pittman was arraigned in Town of Cortlandville Court and jailed in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
He is scheduled to return to court on Dec. 16 at noon.
