CORNING, N.Y. (WETM – TV) – Corning enjoyed a fun-filled day for the 2019 ‘Taste of Summer’ event.

There were no shortage of smiles on Bridge Street. The famed Gaffer District was flooded with music, food and a strong family atmosphere.

“I come to this event every year,” said Cheryl Proctor.

Martha Pound of Carey’s Brewhouse was quite thrilled to be cooking for the community.

“It’s really fun. It’s something good to do for the community.”

With this event being one of the best places to spend a day with family, some felt it’s all about the togetherness of participating in something special.

” I’m very happy,” said Collin McLaughlin of Your CBD Store. “It’s a beautiful day. It’s a tremendous privilege to be here and have our store vending.”

The most profound activity seemingly anyone could engage in was spending quality time with those you love. Angela Carapella, new to Corning, expressed a love for spending time with those she loves.

“It’s great for the kids to see the bouncy house to promote some local businesses.”

Much like Angela and numerous others, the day is more than a day on Bridge street, it’s a celebration of culture, heritage, and soaking up the sun.
