ELMIRA, N.Y. ( WETM) – Chemung County Executive Christopher Moss is pleased with the city’s direction.
Economically speaking, the city is showing great signs and promise of an upward rise is bettering its fiscal output.
Last nights community forum to discuss various economic proposals to better serve the community, turned out a strong showing of support.
And with that, Moss espoused that one of the suggestions with the most meaningful financial impact for both the city and the county is the recommendation to increase and redistribute sales tax revenue based on need rather then a population.
“There is no friction between the city and the county,” said Chemung County Executive Christopher Moss. “I speak with the Mayor and the City Manager on a weekly basis. We either text or call or having lunch, those issues are all over with. Now, what we are trying to do is find ways to have common ground and be more efficient.”
Moss said there’s work that needs to be done, but he’s confident the city can work together and move in the right direction.
