Devastation and destruction begins as Hurricane Florence nears landfall

News

Hurricane Florence begins to unleash its wrath, with a storm surge of 10 feet and life-threatening winds of up to 105 mph in some areas.

Officials are warning of potentially catastrophic flooding as the storm nears landfall on the Southeast coast. The flooding has already begun in some parts of North and South Carolina. Hundreds of thousands of residents are already without power.

Hurricane Florence has been downgraded to a Category 1 storm but officials warn: the threat remains.

The onslaught of wind and rain is projected to continue throughout the weekend and into next week as well.
