A chili cook-off was held at the East Corning Fire Department.
It was hosted by Pawz and Purzz animal rescue.
Those in charge of the event said it’s important to raise awareness for animals in need of homes.
“This not only will it help with our vet bills but just to bring awareness to our organization ourself,“ said Pawz and Purzz President Susan Buchanan.
Pawz and Purzz Treasurer Valerie Spicer echoed the aformentioned sentiment. “It’s important to helps us to bring awareness to the community for our purpose, our cause, and our mission to raise funds.“
All proceeds go to help care for the animals in their rescue.
