Demolition is in full swing on the existing building at the Elmira-Corning Regional Airport.

Since last week, the conference room has been completed and WiFi is now available throughout the terminal but there is still a lot of work to be done before the estimated completion date of October 31st of this year.

As director of Aviation, Bill Hopper, explains, there’s plenty still happening around the airport, “We’ve got a lot of work happening, I don’t know if you noticed when you were outside they were starting to get the framing for the overhangs on the front drive. That is going very hot and heavy,” said Hopper. “Demolition is almost done now in the closed portion of the terminal and we will be doing a lot of work there. We will actually be starting to do the finishing work in that area.”

The airport remains open while construction is underway and we will have a new update next week.
