Elmira Enforcers will have raffle of a jersey, proceeds will go towards “the flagman”

The Elmira Enforcers will raffle off a jersey at their next game against the Watertown Wolves on Wednesday, 26 to help a fan who has become known as “The Flagman.”

The Flagman is the nickname given to Pete Frank, a loyal fan that shows up to games in a red, white, and blue painted face with an American flag. His daughter told 18 News he has been doing this for years, since the Elmira Jackals. The tradition started around 9/11 as a tribute to troops, and his favorite sport, hockey. Flagman is currently  in the ICU due to an illness, and the Enforcers want to give back to their loyal fan.

Anyone can purchase a ticket at the game at First Arena, starting at 6:00 p.m. when gates open.

“The Flagman has been going to every game and was a great supporter of the Jackals and now the Enforcers,” the Owner of the Elmira Enforcers, Robbie Nichols, said.
