Elmira resident indicted for welfare fraud, grand larceny


ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) – An Elmria resident has been indicted by a Chemung County grand jury for welfare fraud and grand larceny.

According to court documents, Frances Jackson failed to report her employment income and obtained more than $3,000 worth of SNAP benefits.

Jackson allegedly received the funds starting on or about Sept. 1, 2015 through July 30, 2018.

Jackson is facing charges of welfare fraud in the third degree and grand larceny in the third degree.
