Emhart Glass, which produces equipment to test glass products for defects, has a new location in Big Flats at the former Sikorsky complex.
The business has been in the community for over 100 years years and for Chemung County Executive Tom Santulli, reaching a deal that would make them happy was important.
Santulli said Tuesday was a great day for the community, especially for the employees who get to keep their jobs.
“As we looked at different possibilities, we looked at several buildings,” Santulli said. “When we walked into this building I can still remember Pat Ervin’s face. I could see that he liked it, I could see that he thought it really would meet their need.”
Santulli said it is a modern facility with lots of room and lots of options for expansion.
