One local church is helping families in their community by starting a Baby Bank.
Serving the Corning, Painted Post, and Bath area the First Baptist Church of Painted Post is accepting donations to help the babies in their community.
Anything from diapers, wipes, blankets and more you can now donate towards the Baby Bank. The hope is to help families in need by supplying emergency baby items when parents or guardians may be in a difficult financial situation.
“We wanted to be a part of the community,” Pastor Curt Dotson said. “Find ways in which we could serve the community, and be the church. Talking to various agencies in the area, we found that diapers are a big need that is not being met.”
The church will host a spaghetti dinner Saturday, Oct. 15, to officially kick off the Baby Bank.
“So, we’re inviting folks to come in,” Dotson said. “You can bring a box of wipes, or a pack of diapers, and get some spaghetti. Or, of course, a donation and receive a spaghetti dinner. Hopefully we will get to meet some folks, and get to know people that way too.”
