The Twin Tiers begins with wake up temperatures in the 30s with snow showers lingering from the north and west. The upper level low pressure system remains stalled out across the northeastern region through today, bringing lake enhanced moisture to the area. An additional 1-3” is possible for areas in the valley. For higher elevations, around 2-5” are possible through Thursday morning. High temperatures today top out in the mid to upper-30s with gusty winds out of the northwest, anywhere from 10-20 mph. This will allow wind chill values to be in the low to mid-20s once again as extra cloud cover hangs on.
Temperatures drop to the low-30s tonight with snow showers still lingering from the Great Lakes. Winds will stay out of the northwest overnight, anywhere from 5-10 mph, keeping the chill in the air. The low pressure system will track north and east tonight and drift off to the east Thursday, with a northwesterly wind flow continuing along with cold temperatures.
Increasing clouds and possible showers for Friday evening, with highs reaching the low-40s. Saturday is looking cloudy and rainy with highs near average in the low-40s. Trending slightly warmer than average for Sunday before a cold front draws near, with additional light rain showers in the forecast. Some sunshine to start off the work week with a few stray showers possible for Tuesday.
