A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 6 PM Sunday until 2 PM Monday afternoon for the Twin Tiers.
Light snow beings to enter this evening and will become moderate at times through tonight. This is all associated with a weak area of low pressure moving across the Twin Tiers. Patchy freezing drizzle could mix with snowfall for a time late tonight and into early Monday morning. Lows overnight staying in the mid to upper 20s. This could cause dangerous travel and slippery surfaces. Take it slow Monday morning when heading out to work. The bulk of the snowfall looks to end by early afternoon – with snow showers lingering into the evening. High temperatures on Monday look to hover right near the freezing mark.
Overall snowfall totals not looking to be very significant, but a widespread 1-3″ is possible with those higher amounts in parts of higher elevations of the Southern Tier.
Headed into Tuesday, high-pressure builds back in which means dry conditions will return along with sunshine. Temperatures will be cold however with highs Tuesday only approaching the mid to upper 20s.
We then track another chance for snow and rain headed into Wednesday and Thursday, along with a warmer than average end to the week with temperatures in the 40s Thursday through Sunday.
