FRIDAY SUNSET: 5:49 PM
High Wind Watch in effect for portions of the Twin Tiers 1pm Sunday through Monday. The chance for wind gusts over 60 mph possible at times.
We deal with mainly dry conditions to end your workweek with high temperatures on Friday staying in the upper 30s to near 40 degrees. A mixture of sun and clouds will develop late Friday morning with winds out of the northwest 5-10 mph as high pressure continues to move into the area. This area of high pressure will allow us to stay mainly clear to partly cloudy overnight with lows near 20 degrees.
Some sunshine may start your day on Saturday before clouds start to increase as our next area of low pressure makes its treck towards the north and east. Highs on Saturday approaching the low to mid-40s as winds begin to turn out of the south – above average for late February.
Rain will start to enter the region Saturday night with widespread rain likely on Sunday, which could be heavy at times. This could lead to some isolated flooding in prone areas. Winds will continue to increase from the southwest 10-20 mph with gusts in excess of 60 mph possible at times. This could lead to some scattered power outages associated with downed trees and limbs. Highs on Sunday near the low to mid-50s as southerly flow locks in warmer and moister air.
Chance for showers lingers into Monday with some sunshine returning late and lasting into Tuesday. Temperatures will fall back to near average in the mid-30s.
