A cold front drops in from Canada, dropping temperatures across the Twin Tiers through Friday afternoon. Temperatures begin in the low to mid-40s, then fall into the 30s through the daytime hours. Lingering rain showers turn to light snow showers by late morning. Winds the main concern Friday as gusts of 35 mph or more are possible. Sustained winds out of the west 10-20 mph.
West winds remain gusty Friday night, anywhere from 10-20 mph with gusts upwards of 35-40 mph at times. A very cold night to follow as overnight lows bottom out near 10 degrees. Wind chill values will feel near 0 degrees heading into Saturday morning.
High pressure takes hold of the weather pattern for the majority of the weekend. High temperatures Saturday in the mid to upper-20s. Gusty winds continue, which drops wind chills into the teens and single digits. Some sunshine continues for Sunday before clouds build in. High temperatures Sunday look quite seasonable, in the low to mid-30s. Next weak disturbance brings a chance for snow Sunday night into early Monday.
Keeping an eye on a potential storm for next week. Chance for snow and a wintry mix returns Tuesday and continues Wednesday.
