Happy first day of Spring! We track mostly sunny conditions today with high temperatures warming above average into the low 50s. It is going to look and feel like spring today – so enjoy some time outside this afternoon if you can! High pressure remains in control today so that means dry and sunny conditions for most of the day! Winds will be out of the southwest 5-10 mph at times helping to usher in these warmer conditions. Clouds will begin to increase, out of the west as we approach the afternoon hours, this is associated with our next weather maker moving in late week.

Tonight clouds continue to increase with mostly cloudy skies and the chance for showers developing. Lows tonight will be a bit warmer than average, right near freezing. Low pressure continues to move towards the north, over the Great Lakes and brings a cold front through the Twin Tiers on Thursday. This will act to produce some showers as well as cooler temperatures moving into late week. Showers may start as a wintry mix or rain/snow as temperatures are close to freezing, then transition over into all rain showers. Highs on Thursday in the upper 40s.

As that front passes, temperatures fall Thursday night and into Friday, which means these light rain showers may transition into light snow showers. Another weak area of slow pressure moves up the coast on Friday, bringing yet again the chance for some showers along with winds that may be gusty at times out of the northwest 10-20 mph. Gusts may be over 25 mph at times. Snow showers turn to rain showers Friday as highs warm to the lower 40s.

High pressure moves back in for this weekend which means sunshine returning along with warmer air entering for Sunday, allowing highs temperatures to be close to 60 degrees.
