High pressure building over the region puts an end to lingering flurries and decreases our cloud cover into Thursday night. Limited cloud cover along with a light wind helps temperatures fall to near 0 degrees for overnight lows.

Increasing cloud cover Friday as an area of low pressure passes through the Mid-Atlantic. Chance for light snowfall returns, mainly for those in the Northern Tier. Temperatures reach into the low 30s for the afternoon. Decreasing clouds late Friday night and lows into the teens.

High pressure dips down over the region Saturday leading to a mainly dry day. Increasing cloud cover, though, and highs near 40 degrees. An area of low pressure makes an impact on the region by Sunday. The timing of this system plays a role in which type of precipitation we’ll see. Models now indicating a wintry mix of sleet, freezing rain, and snowfall late Saturday night into the predawn hours Sunday. Precipitation turns to all rain Sunday morning as temperatures warm above freezing. Strong southerly winds ushering in the warmth with highs reaching near 50 degrees. Temperatures dropping Sunday night near freezing, changing lingering rain showers into snow showers.
