AVERAGE HIGH FOR SEPTEMBER 8TH: 72°

AVERAGE LOW FOR SEPTEMBER 8TH: 50°

SUNDAY SUNRISE: 6:39 AM

SUNDAY SUNSET: 7:32 PM

A wave is moving out of the area today that will open us up to high pressure going into the beginning and through mid week. Filtered sunshine today with mostly dry conditions, we could see some light scattered showers, high today right around average in the lower 70s. Clouds decreasing tonight with a low in the upper 40s.

Monday begins the warming trend that will be this week. An area of high pressure is going to set in over the southeast United States that is going to greatly impact the rest of the week in the Twin Tiers. The high pressure will allow for warm air from the southwest to be directed into our region, warming us to well above averaged for the time of year. Highs Monday will be in the mid 70s with sunny skies and dry conditions.

Tuesday warms up even more with a high in the upper 70s. Mostly cloudy skies expected with chances of showers in the evening hours. Increasing cloud cover will not let low temperatures get as low as averages, lower 60s for Tuesday night.

We warm up to the low to mid 80s on Wednesday, well above average for the time of year, that comes with more shower and thunderstorm chances that will persist through a good chunk of the remainder of the week.
