Former Millport clerk guilty of grand larceny

Dawn Haverley, the former Village of Millport Clerk, has been found guilty of Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, a class D felony.

Chemung County District Attorney Weeden Wetmore’s office tells 18 News that Haverley misappropriated funds from the Village’s tax and water payments.

The misappropriation of funds ran from June 1, 2013, to Nov. 10, 2015, according to an investigation by the New York State Comptroller’s Office-Investigation Unit.

Haverley’s conviction carries a sentence of one to three years in jail or three to five years of probation.

Haverley is scheduled for sentencing on June 19, 2019.
