“One of the best substitute teacher I’ve ever had.”
Beloved Horseheads Central School District teacher Ken “Mr. K” Kaplan passed away at the age of 73.
Students at Horseheads Central School District honored their former teacher by offering an outpouring of love on social media.
I heard today that mr. K passed away, and all jokes aside, he was truly everyone’s favorite substitute. He made school so much more fun, and we’ll all remember him for his jokes and stories (not to mention the weather)— Mr. K (@hhs_Mr_K) April 25, 2019
RIP Mr. K. You made school so much better and when I learned that you would be substitute for my class I couldn’t get the smile off my face. Thanks for everything 🙏— Hatt Mess (@matt_hess29) April 25, 2019
Students also signed a card for Mr. K’s wife offering their condolences.
The Horseheads Central School District said Mr. K “had a wonderful, big personality. He loved kids, adults, everyone. He was always, always ready with an enthusiastic ‘hello, how are you’ for everyone he saw.”
