How local residents are keeping cool during the excessive heat


The heat and humidity didn’t stop the community from coming out Thursday evening for the First “Eldridge Park Sell Out” of the year. Many people were out walking around and enjoying some fun in the sun! Even kids were excited to go to the park on this hot day!

With excessive heat warnings in effect from noon on Friday through Saturday at 8 p.m. for Steuben, Chemung, Schuyler, Tompkins, and Tioga counties in N.Y. & Bradford county P.A. Heat advisory goes in effect at noon on Friday through 8 p.m. on Saturday for Tioga county in P.A.

With hotter temperatures and humidity forecasted for the Twin Tiers in the coming days, many residents are finding fun ways to keep cool.

Many adults and children are mostly excited for a perfect excuse to eat ice cream! If you aren’t a huge fan of ice cream don’t worry there are plenty of other ways to beat the heat. Whether you are spending time in the pool, running through a sprinkler, finding space in the shade, or just relaxing in the air conditioning.
