A stretch of Interstate 81 has reopened after being closed for hours Monday night in Dauphin County.

According to police, around 11:13 p.m. Monday, a State Trooper found a black GMC Yukon pulled off to the side of I-81 at milemarker 75.4 with lights and hazard lights activated.

The Trooper found a deceased male outside of the vehicle.

Investigators believe the death was a result of a road rage incident involving multiple passenger vehicles and a tractor trailer.

The victim has not been identified.

Police say the public is not in any danger.

The northbound lanes of I-81 were closed from Exit 72 A (US 22 – Paxtonia) to Exit 77 (PA 39 – Manada Hill/Hershey).

The roadway reopened just after 5 a.m.
