Horseheads Village Police confirm a student recently made a threat at Horseheads High School.
Police said they investigated the situation and found the threat to be non-credible at this time.
The school has taken measures to discipline the student internally.
A formal letter will be sent to parents regarding the situation at the school.
Police will have an increased presence at the school on Friday, Dec. 21, as a precautionary measure. Chief of Horseheads Police Tom Stickler said the safety of students and staff are top priority and police plan to take measures to ensure that.
The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
