Local bar gives back to young boy who lost his father in tragic accident

Samantha Lantz and Randy Donovan stopped by 18 News Today to discuss an upcoming fundraiser for the son of a friend, and loved member of the community.

Quincey Root was a loyal customer of Sam’s Bar & Grill and a friend of the community. His life tragically cut short in a motorcycle accident on June 4. He leaves behind an 8-year-old son, Jamison.

Jamison has experienced more loss than any little boy should have to, losing his mother a few years ago before this most recent tragedy. The community has come together to help him through this difficult time.

On Saturday, July 20, Sam’s Bar & Grill located at 912 North Wilbur Ave., Sayre, Pa., will be holding a fundraiser featuring a motorcycle ride, chicken BBQ, 50/50, raffles, and LIVE music by Shanghai Goodbye, members of Swipe Right, and Live Animals.

All of the proceeds will go to Jamison and his family.

If you are unable to make the fundraiser but would still like to donate, donations can be made to the Jamison Root Memorial Account at Citizens and Northern Bank.
